Giving through an IRA
If you are age 70½ or older, you may be eligible to direct an IRA distribution to a qualified charity. Eligibility, annual limits, and tax treatment depend on current rules and your circumstances.
Ask your IRA custodian and tax adviser whether a qualified charitable distribution is appropriate for you. Before arranging a gift to Saint Elizabeth, contact Dan McHugh to confirm the parish’s receiving instructions.

If you are 70 ½ or older, you can direct a distribution to Saint Elizabeth’s for the Saint E’s Rose Fund. Not only do you get credit for taking your required minimum distribution, beginning at age 73, but you also avoid recognizing the distribution as income, which affects other benefits and taxes.
Contact our staff to ensure your gift meets your objective and that you receive the appropriate acknowledgement letters for tax purposes.
